AI Assistant

The BoolCare AI assistant lets you ask questions about your residents and their care in plain English. It can retrieve data, generate charts, build PDF reports, and send results directly to your email — all within a single conversation.

Opening the assistant

Click Assistant in the sidebar. If your account has access to multiple care homes, select the home you want to query first.

Asking questions

Type your question in the message box and press Enter or click Send. The assistant reads from your live resident data — everything is real-time and role-restricted, so you only see data for homes you have access to.

Example questions you can ask

Residents

  • "List all active residents in Maple House"
  • "Show me residents with no daily note in the last 3 days"

Care plans

  • "Which residents have a Nutrition & Hydration care plan active?"
  • "Show me Jane Smith's care plan"

Risk assessments

  • "List all falls risk assessments due for review this month"
  • "What risk assessments does John Doe have?"

Daily recordings

  • "Show me all daily notes for Sarah Connor from last week"
  • "Which residents had a note recorded today?"

MUST assessments

  • "Show me the MUST trend for Robert Hughes over the last 6 months"
  • "Which residents are currently at high nutritional risk?"

Form submissions

  • "Show me the last 10 wound care form submissions"

Generating charts

When you ask for trend data, the assistant can generate inline bar or line charts.

The chart data comes directly from your live records — no manual export needed.

Creating PDF reports

Ask the assistant to create a PDF report and it will compile the data into a downloadable document with a title, metadata, and a formatted table.

Emailing results to yourself

After the assistant has retrieved data or created a report, you can ask it to email the results to you.

"Email me that report"

The assistant sends the report to the email address registered on your BoolCare account. You do not need to enter your email — it uses the authenticated user's address automatically.

The context panel

On the right-hand side of the assistant (visible on wider screens) is a Context panel showing:

  • Your current organisation and home
  • Your role
  • The data sources the assistant used in its last response

This helps you understand where the information came from and confirms the assistant is querying the right home.

What the assistant cannot do

  • The assistant cannot modify data — it is read-only. It cannot create, edit, or delete residents, care plans, forms, or any other records.
  • It cannot access data from homes you are not authorised for.
  • It cannot send emails to third parties — only to your own registered email address.
